2023 Pre-Bond Committee

  • The 2023 Pre-Bond Committee met over a period of four months to develop the 2023 Bond package. 

    • Forty-five people serve on the Committee.
    • Thirty-seven of them are parents, community members, and students.
    • The remaining eight people are Jarrell ISD staff members.
    • The committee's goal is to develop a comprehensive bond package that will meet the needs of our growing community. 

    They met four times over the next few months:

    • Meeting 1: October 13 - Igo Elementary School
    • Meeting 2: November 10 - Jarrell Middle School
    • Meeting 3: December 8 - Jarrell High School
    • Meeting 4: January 12- Jarrell Elementary School

    The meetings were 90 minutes long. The committee carefully evaluated our enrollment numbers, bond capacity and tax rate, existing facilities, and additional topics. Ultimately, the committee determined if they should move forward with a bond package. On January 12th, the committee unanimously voted to move forward with a bond package. Below are presentations from previous meetings.

    The final outcome was that the Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted on Wednesday, February 7, to call a bond election for May 6, 2023. The $324,607,052 bond proposal with a no tax rate increase.
