Interim Principal Named at Igo Elementary

Superintendent Dr. Toni Hicks announced Rosena Malone as the interim principal of Igo Elementary, while Principal Adrienne Rodriguez is out on maternity leave.

"Ms. Malone is an exemplary educator with 39 years’ experience in the central Texas area. We warmly welcome Ms. Malone and look forward to her joining the Igo Elementary family," said Superintendent Toni Hicks.

Rosena Malone is a retired educator who served as a middle school teacher for 15 years and 23 years as an administrator in Temple ISD, Austin ISD, Round Rock ISD. Ms. Malone also served as the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools in Round Rock ISD. Before becoming an educational professional, she worked as a print journalist.

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve Igo Elementary as the interim principal," Ms. Malone said. "I look forward to putting my skills to use at Igo. I am committed to nurturing and developing students and supporting teachers daily."

Ms. Malone is a mother of five kids and has eight grandchildren. She counts her family, faith, and career in education as her most significant accomplishments.

"I can rest easy on maternity leave knowing Ms. Malone will lead our campus with passion and excitement. The students and staff at Igo Elementary are in good hands with Rosena Malone," said Igo Principal Adrienne Rodriguez.

Ms. Malone’s first day at Igo Elementary is March 7, 2022.
