Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees call for May bond election

The Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted Wednesday, February 7, to call a bond election for May 6, 2023. The $324,607,052 bond proposal with a no tax rate increase.

 

Rebecca Beach, a parent and member of the District's 2023 Pre-Bond Committee, presented the bond recommendation to the Board of Trustees. The ballot contains a single proposition driven by growth. Jarrell ISD's current enrollment is more than 3,400 students. Enrollment numbers are projected to increase to more than 5,000 by the 2024-25 school year. 

 

The bond proposal includes two new elementary schools, a new middle school, additions and renovations to Jarrell High School for Career and Technical Education and general classroom space, the Ag Barn, Gymnasium, and Fine Arts. The proposal also includes upgrades to the Paw Prints Facility, District Operations Center, enhanced technology infrastructure, security upgrades, land, and additional school buses and white fleet vehicles.
