Chief Sharif Mezayek Named Civil Servant of the Year

The Jarrell Chamber of Commerce named Jarrell ISD Police Chief Sharif Mezayek the "Civil Servant of the Year." Chief Mezayek was hired last summer and established the Jarrell ISD Police Department. He has brought on talented, experienced officers who enjoy their jobs. Through his leadership and their efforts, our students and staff are safer.

"Chief Mezayek has a servant's heart. He has incredible leadership experience, and his ability to connect with young people is remarkable. In the short time he's been part of the Jarrell ISD family, he's made a positive impact. I can't think of a more deserving person," said Superintendent Dr. Toni Hicks.

Chief Sharif Mezayek has 29 years of law enforcement experience. His law enforcement background includes Detective, Sergeant, Deputy Sheriff, and School Resource Officer. Before joining Jarrell ISD, he was the Chief of Police at Liberty Hill ISD.

Mezayek is certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement as a Mental Health Officer, School Based Law Enforcement Officer, and Master Law Enforcement Officer.
