Voters Support Jarrell ISD 2023 School Bond Election

Williamson County has released election results from the Jarrell ISD school bond election showing voters supported the $324,607,052 proposition with 75% in favor.
The approved bond package will address the rapid growth impacting JISD with new schools and additional resources. This bond package was recommended by the Pre-Bond Committee, a diverse group of parents, staff, students, and community members, and ultimately supported by the Jarrell ISD community.

The approved projects include:
● Proposition A:
o 2 New Elementary Schools
o New Middle School
o Additions and Renovations to Jarrell HS including a designated wing for
Career & Technical Education (CTE), Fine Arts, Ag Barn, and Gym
Improvements
o New District Operations Center to serve as the main transportation and
maintenance facility for JISD
o Safety and Security Enhancements
o Technology Infrastructure Improvements
o Updates to Paw Prints Child Development Center
o New Buses and White Fleet
o Land for Future School Sites

As shared during the campaign, the Jarrell ISD Interest & Sinking (I&S, debt service) tax rate will not increase as these bonds are sold and projects accomplished. The current rate of $0.50 cannot and will not be increased.

“We would like to thank the voters for making their voices heard in this election and supporting Jarrell ISD as we work diligently to create additional space in our district and continue providing the best possible education for our current students and future students. We could not do this without the support and involvement of this wonderful
community,” said Superintendent Dr. Toni Hicks.

The district will provide regular updates to the community over the entire course of this bond process now that it is in motion. All community members are encouraged to attend regular school board meetings, district presentations, and follow along on the Jarrell ISD social media channels and websites.
