Kelly Blair named Director of Secondary Education

The Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees approved Kelly Blair as the district's Director of Secondary Education. Ms. Blair will oversee the district's secondary campuses aKelly Blair Headshotnd work with the principals and staff to develop and implement rigorous academic and educational opportunities.

"As a former math and science teacher and campus administrator, Ms. Blair brings valuable insight to this important position. Under her leadership, we are confident Ms. Blair will elevate our staff and students by maximizing their talents and abilities. Her contributions will help make Jarrell ISD a destination district," said Superintendent Dr. Toni Hicks.  

Ms. Blair is currently serving as principal of Jarrell Middle School, where she's led since August 2021. As principal at the middle school, Ms. Blair implemented new, innovative teaching methods that raised the school's state grade level to a B in one year. 

"I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve as Director of Secondary Education," Ms. Blair said. "I am eager to start working with students, district and campus staff, and the community to enhance our students' opportunities, support our teachers, and continue improving student outcomes for all."

Ms. Blair earned an associate's degree from Temple Junior College, a bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University, and a master's degree from Lamar University. 

Ms. Blair will continue to serve as the building principal until a permanent replacement is named.
