Josh Curtis Named Principal at New Middle School

The Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Josh Curtis as the new principal of Jarrell Ranch Middle School, the district's new middle school that will open in August. 

"After carefully reviewing our applicants, we believe Josh Curtis is the best person to lead Jarrell Ranch Middle School. He has a proven track record of academic success and experience as a middle school principal. His leadership and knowledge are an asset to our district, and our students will greatly benefit," said Superintendent Dr. Toni Hicks

Josh Curtis is currently an Assistant Principal at Jarrell Middle School. Before joining Jarrell ISD, Mr. Curtis worked as a middle school principal at Liberty Hill ISD. During his 18 years of educational experience, he has worked as an administrator at Flatonia ISD and Louise ISD as a teacher and coach. 

As a principal, Mr. Curtis won two national awards for a PLC to Watch Campus. He was also recognized by the National Public Schools to Watch for his leadership efforts.

"It is an honor and privilege to be able to serve the community of Jarrell and Jarrell ISD in the opening of Jarrell Ranch Middle School. We will strive every day to create a culture of learning, growth, and exceptional citizenship, all while having fun and enjoying middle school experiences.  Opening a new middle school in Jarrell is an exciting challenge that will not be taken lightly," said Mr. Curtis.

An avid sports fan, he and his wife, Nicole, have three children and look forward to wearing the Cougars blue and cheering on our student-athletes.

Josh Curtis earned his bachelor's degree at McMurry University and his master's degree from Lamar University. He also earned a Superintendent Certification.
