New Place 4 Trustee Named

The Jarrell Independent School District Board of Trustees has appointed David Lovelace as the new Place 4 Trustee. He replaces Kenneth Leverett, who resigned in December.

Mr. Lovelace was sworn into office at the March 30th Board of Trustees Special Meeting. With his wife by his side, he thanked the board for the opportunity and assured them, "I will work hard for the people of Jarrell and advocate for our students and staff, " he said.

Place 4 represents parts of Sun City and the surrounding area of Jarrell.
Mr. Lovelace is a retired businessman. His wife, Georgia, taught junior high school for 32 years before retiring in 2001. They have lived in Sun City for 16 years. They are members of the Kiwanis Club of Sun City. Together, they work with Jarrell High School students' Kiwanis Key Club, helping students develop leadership skills. Mr. Lovelace is a fierce supporter of the public school system.

"David Lovelace is the ideal candidate to represent Place 4. He's passionate about public education and believes strongly in doing what we can to serve our students and support our teachers," said Board President Crystal Phalen. "He's an effective leader, and we're confident he will represent the best of Jarrell ISD."

David Lovelace will serve as the Place 4 Trustee until the November 2022 election, when he'll have to run for the position formally.
