At the June 15, 2022, Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees Meeting, the board approved the 2022-23 school year budget. The budget includes a significant increase in curriculum and classroom resources, professional development, safety and security, and staff salary.

All staff will receive a 5% pay increase from their midpoint salary structure. Up from 3%, the board initially approved in April.
The district will also pay 100% of the basic health insurance plan. Plus an increase in stipends.
$1,000 Retention Stipend
$5,000 SPED FAC Stipend
$5,000 Bilingual Stipend
$2,000 SPED Inclusion Stipend

The starting salary for teachers with zero years of experience increased to $51,000.

"We sincerely appreciate our teachers and staff for their hard work and dedication to our students and their families. We see that work every day. Therefore, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, we are grateful to offer all staff a 5 percent pay increase, plus additional stipends for the 2022-23 school year," said Board President Crystal Phalen.

The board also approved a new compensation plan for the 22-23 school. The 5% pay increase is based on the midpoint of this new salary structure.

"We're grateful to our CFO, Robert Navarro, and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Pennee Hall for crunching the numbers to make this possible and our Board of Trustees, who make it a priority to invest in Jarrell ISD employees. Our teachers and staff work hard daily to make Jarrell ISD a safe, meaningful, academic environment for all," said Superintendent Dr. Toni Hicks.
