Registration information during the COVID-19 Pandemic and School Closures

Returning students continue to have the option of online registration. This will not take the place of our annual registration nights held at Jarrell Middle School. However, it will provide you the opportunity to update your student’s information online as well as fill out and print the documents necessary to turn in at registration. This will expedite your registration process and alleviate filling out forms the night of registration. Also, we encourage that you apply for free/reduced lunch online at prior to the registration nights as well.

Returning student online registration will open beginning July 17, 2019 and close by noon on July 30, 2019. To access Returning Student Online Registration, you will need to have an active Parent Portal Account as well as use an active email account that is on file with your student’s campus. You will be able to access Online Registration from our website at You will go to the Parent Resource tab and click the Online Registration for Returning Students link. Please read ALL instructions carefully. The annual registration nights will be held July 31st and August 6th at Jarrell Middle School from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. All returning students, district wide, are required to attend one of the two registration nights offered prior to the start of school.

**If you do not have a current Parent Portal Account or need to update your email address, all campus office hours will resume July 29, 2019 and the office staff will be able to assist you then.

***Your student will not be placed in a classroom until all required registration documentation is completed.

New students have the ability to print out forms from our website at You can access the forms on the Parent Resource tab under the link for New Student Registration. This will allow you to fill out all forms at home at your leisure and bring them along with you when you register your new student.

New Student Enrollment
New student enrollment will begin August 1, 2019 from 8:00 am - 11 am on each campus. This will take place daily until the start of school with the exception of August 6th and 7th due to campus/district training.

Registration Requirements

Age Requirements

State law requires school attendance between the ages of 6 and 18. A child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1 to enter kindergarten. To enter first grade, a child must be 6 years of age on or before September 1.

Document Requirements (K-12)

  • Birth certificate
  • Social Security card
  • Proof of physical residence
  • Parent's Photo ID
  • Transcript from previous school
  • Immunization record

Pre-Kindergarten Registration
The Jarrell Independent School District will offer an instructional program for eligible 4-year olds.

To Qualify:

  • Four years old on or before September 1
  • Limited English language proficiency
  • Income within guidelines for free/reduced meals (proof of income required)
  • Homeless
  • The child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed during active duty. Includes uniformed service members Missing in Action (MIA)
  • Fostered or adopted
  • Documents listed above

Upon completion of the online registration, students that have any address changes will need to provide updated Proof of Residency to their campus. The changes will not be effective until the documentation is received.
