Jarrell Athletic CougarOn Thursday, February 3, 2022, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) released its new alignment and classification for high school sports.

Jarrell ISD has several significant changes.

In football, the district moves from Region 3 to Region 4. Austin Achieve/Geronimo Navarro/Lago Vista/Manor New Tech/Wimberly/Jarrell is an entirely new district. JISD is now in District 13-4A Division 2.

Jarrell ISD Athletic Director Coach Marty Murr said, “We are very excited about our new realignment. Going to region 4 in football will take us South for district play. It looks like the UIL divided regions 3 and 4 between Jarrell and Salado. We were the only football school to move to region 4 from our previous district. Region 4 will present new challenges for competition. Being in the district with Wimberly, Navarro, and Lago Vista will be challenging, but the Cougars are ready!”

Volleyball remains in Region 3 and District 24-4A,

This district includes the following teams:
Burnet/Georgetown Gateway/Darrell/Lago Vista/Lampasas/Marble Falls.

Basketball remains in Region 3 and in District 24-4A.

This district includes the following teams: Burnet/Georgetown Gateway/Darrell/Lago Vista/Lampasas/Marble Falls.

“Our Volleyball and Basketball alignments will keep Jarrell in region 3 for those sports. We will be District 24-4A. We lose Taylor and Salado from those sports, adding Lago Vista, Marble Falls, and Lampasas. This district will be travel friendly but very competitive. We will be releasing fall schedules for the 2022-2023 school year in the coming weeks. As Athletic Director, I am excited to start the new realignment for the next two years.

The alignment for all other sports will be out in April.
