Jarrell ISD Returning Student Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is now open. Parents/guardians must complete their JISD student’s registration online to ensure the district has your child’s up-to-date information.

Before you begin:

  • Returning Registration is completed through Ascender Parent Portal.
  • All parents/guardians are required to have an Ascender account. If you have more than one child in Jarrell ISD. Note: Only the parent identified as Contact Parent #1 may update a student's account. The email address you have on file with the school should be used to set up your account.

To update or verify your child’s information:

  • Link your child to your account. Parents must link student(s) to their account and must be listed as the Contact Parent #1 to update the student's returning registration. Parents will be asked to verify their email and phone number to link their students. A Parent Portal Code is used to link existing students. This is a unique alphanumeric code that can only be obtained by contacting your campus registrar or the district PEIMS coordinator.
  • Once you have linked your student, you will see a red Registration button under your student's profile in the Summary section of your Ascender Parent Portal. Click the red Registration button to update or verify your child’s information.
  • If you have moved or will be at a different address at the start of the next school year, you are required to upload a proof of residency document (utility bills, cable bills with a listed service address, lease agreements or mortgage statements) within the portal.
  • New this year: Fillable PDFs. In order to complete the registration process, follow prompts to upload all required PDF documents within Ascender Parent Portal.

New Student Enrollment 

New student enrollment for the 2021-22 school year is now open!

Enrollment is done online through Ascender - Parent Portal. Please review this user's guide to help you enroll your child. 
Please note: Students who were registered for Pre-K or Kindergarten during Pre-K and Kindergarten Roundup in May are registered for the coming school year and do not need to register again. 

Transfer application

To request to transfer into Jarrell ISD, please complete this application: Jarrell ISD Transfer Application (PDF).

Jarrell ISD will no longer accept new out-of-district transfers at the elementary level (with the exception of children of staff members). Out-of-district transfers will be considered for the middle school and high school.

SCHOOL Registration Requirements

Age Requirements

State law requires school attendance between the ages of 6 and 18. A child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1 to enter kindergarten. To enter first grade, a child must be 6 years of age on or before September 1.

Document Requirements (K-12)

  • Birth certificate
  • Social Security card
  • Proof of physical residence
  • Parent's Photo ID
  • Transcript from previous school
  • Immunization record

Pre-Kindergarten Registration

The Jarrell Independent School District will offer an instructional program for eligible 4-year olds.

To Qualify:

  • Four years old on or before September 1
  • Limited English language proficiency
  • Income within guidelines for free/reduced meals (proof of income required)
  • Homeless
  • The child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed during active duty. Includes uniformed service members Missing in Action (MIA)
  • Fostered or adopted
  • Documents listed above
