Being hired on at Jarrell ISD was a pivotal point in my life. I had no career to speak of, and at that time I had plenty of family and friends pushing me towards obtaining success in any way possible. When I received notification that JISD was looking for a paraprofessional position, though I didn't have a lick of experience I knew this was an opportunity for success.
I was greeted warmly and with plenty of understanding as I quickly learned what it meant to be ‘on the ground’ with the students, and the struggle/success that is felt within that capacity. I was then given another opportunity to become an actual IT technician. It was at that time that I began to truly comprehend the journey I was on with Jarrell ISD.
Through network outages, intense summer-work schedules and overwhelming odds, and through the adventure that was maintaining a live network while updating it I was blessed to learn, grow and develop into something better. I like to think that Jarrell ISD, and the past/present leadership of this district, has blessed me with time, grace and understanding as I have continued to strive for success within the Technology Department.
It is my ongoing goal to edify the Technology Department on the progress and successes that we have achieved. With that strength, we will continue to learn and grow, to further ourselves through education and experience, as we help our kids create a better tomorrow.
