On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, the Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved 12 new teaching positions in response to the district’s staggering growth.
The breakdown of positions are:
- 1 at Jarrell Elementary School
- 3 at Igo Elementary School (including 1 bilingual teaching position)
- 4 at Jarrell Middle School
- social studies
- technology elective
- 4 at Jarrell High School
- composite science
- composite social studies/girls assistant coach
- agriculture science
The Board also approved 2 instructional coach positions. These positions will provide support for math and English/language arts/reading at the secondary campuses.
“Our Board is proactively responding to JISD’s steady increase in student enrollment,” said Superintendent Bill Chapman. “By adding these new positions, our Board is demonstrating their commitment to our teaching staff by giving them the resources they need: smaller class sizes, more time with their students and increased professional support.”
